Shetland Pony Wedding Appearance Policy

 

Purpose

This policy outlines the conditions under which our Shetland ponies may attend weddings and private events, ensuring the safety and welfare of the animals, guests, and handlers.

 

1. Animal Welfare

 

  • The welfare of the ponies is our highest priority.
  • Ponies will only attend events where conditions are suitable and safe.
  • We reserve the right to remove the ponies from the event if their welfare may be compromised.
  • Ponies will have access to water, rest periods, and appropriate shelter where required.

 

2. Venue Requirements

 

  • The venue must provide safe access for loading, unloading, and movement of the ponies.
  • Surfaces must be suitable and free from hazards.
  • Any indoor areas must be approved in advance.
  • The client is responsible for obtaining any venue permissions required for the ponies’ attendance.

 

3. Supervision

 

  • Ponies remain under the control of their handlers at all times.
  • Guests must not feed the ponies unless expressly permitted by the handlers.
  • Children must be supervised by a responsible adult when near the ponies.

 

4. Photography, Interaction and marketing 

 

  • Guests may take photographs unless otherwise agreed.
  • Flash photography may be restricted if it causes distress to the ponies.
  • Handlers may limit interaction if the ponies show signs of stress or discomfort.
  • We may use photographs or videos taken at the event for marketing and social media purposes unless the client states otherwise .  

 

5. Health and Safety

 

  • Ponies are animals and may behave unpredictably despite training and careful handling.
  • Guests interact with the ponies at their own risk.
  • The client is responsible for informing guests that live animals will be present.

 

6. Weather Conditions

 

  • Attendance is subject to suitable weather conditions.
  • In cases of extreme heat, heavy rain, high winds, snow, or other adverse conditions, we may alter or cancel the appearance for welfare and safety reasons.

 

7. Event Conduct

 

  • Excessive noise, fireworks, smoke effects, or other activities that may distress the ponies must be disclosed in advance.
  • We reserve the right to relocate or remove the ponies if conditions become unsuitable.

 

8. Cancellation

 

  • If we must cancel due to illness, injury, transport issues, or welfare concerns affecting the ponies, we will notify the client as soon as possible and refund any applicable fees according to our booking terms.

 

9. Liability

 

  • We carry appropriate public liability insurance.
  • Clients remain responsible for ensuring the venue is suitable and that guests follow instructions given by handlers.

 

10. Acceptance

 

By booking our Shetland pony wedding service, the client confirms acceptance of this policy and agrees to comply with all reasonable instructions provided by the handlers.
